Approches pédagogiques

A typical class consists of two parts: a lecture and a tutorial. The lectures will cover theoretical part of the course. Tutorials will take place in TEM computer lab. During tutorials we will learn how to apply the theory learned in the class to real world data.

Another important part of the course a small research project (to be carried out in groups of several students). Students will be asked to collect their own data on networks (e.g. electronic social networks such as networks of Facebook friends or Twitter followers), apply methods of social network analysis they have learned in class and write a short report on their findings.
